Projects & Programmes

“People are born into this world as assets, not liabilities.”

Bill Strickland, CEO Manchester Bidwell Corporation

We’re providing marginalised and isolated people in our community an invite back into Society with a variety of opportunities to improve their mental wellbeing through creative activity.

Our projects visit people where they are and ask them what it is that they need to feel better, act positively and get involved with others.

These consultations then act as the foundation for the projects we create together. Where we can, we work with other community groups and organisations to introduce people into established and supportive networks.

This provides an opportunity, along ‘Social Prescribing’ lines, for people to move away from social isolation to a more positive, and supported, lifestyle.

If existing projects don’t exist – we work with people to create them!

We are always looking for sponsorship, support and opportunity to collaborate and further develop these programmes – so if you’ve found your way here, and read this far, then we definitely need to hear from you!

Tailored Workshops, Sessions and Events

We deliver a programme of creative mental wellbeing workshops, working with established Greater Manchester based creatives to deliver inspirational sessions with new and existing groups who want to include more creative practice to improve their offer to local people.

The sessions encourage marginalised and isolated people, often with mental health issues, the opportunity to explore their own solutions.

Sharing their stories, learning and creating together gives them the opportunity to build strong relationships with others, some from similar, and others from diverse, backgrounds.

Creative Change Programme

Everyone has something to offer – We’re providing a Greater Manchester wide service that provides some of the most marginalised and isolated people in our community with an invite back to Society and a variety of opportunities to improve their mental wellbeing through creative activity.

The aim of our programme is to visit with as many marginalised and isolated participants as possible to signpost them to creative activity in their local community.

As we visit care schemes, hostels, drop-ins and community centres we’re gathering feedback from as many people as we can of their hobbies, interests and ambitions relating to creative activity.

Where we can, we’ll signpost people to local projects along ‘Social Prescribing’ lines to move people away from social isolation to a more positive, and supported, lifestyle. If not, we’ll have the evidence needed to work with local groups to create collaborative projects that provide a real legacy moving forward.

We work across the whole of Our Greater Manchester and provide a valuable support service that increases our offer to extend opportunities for long-term positive change.

This programme is funded through our own fundraising activity and we’re open to any potential sponsors that share our desire to tackle social issues and want to be involved in a programme that takes action on delivering real change.
